No Time, No Energy, No Motivation?

Sound familiar? Regular physical activity will actually increase your energy levels, burn off stress and help you get a good night sleep.

Let's look at ways to overcome some of these common barriers and take those first few steps to an active lifestyle.

How much is enough?

If you're inactive, ANY increase in activity will help you feel good and benefit your health.

The goal is to find ways to increase:

  • The number of minutes you're active every day.
  • The intensity of your activity - the speed or the effort.
  • Your enjoyment! Start with something you love doing - dancing, walking, gardening, biking, playing with the kids... whatever gets you moving.

It's easier than you think! Try adding a few minutes of activity during your work day. Remember, as far as your health is concerned three 10 minute sessions is just as good as a 30 minute workout of equal intensity.

Think about when you'll be active, not whether you'll be active!

While most people can benefit from an increase in their activity levels, be sure to talk to your doctor before starting a new physical activity program.
