On April 15, 2016, community based-organizations from across Peel and Sheridan College faculty and students came together for a morning of knowledge-sharing, networking, and discussing partnership opportunities at the second annual Community Research Café. Over 100 community based organizations and Sheridan staff and students attended the half day event.

The morning opened with presentations from local stakeholders that captured the spirit of partnership and innovation and provided practical tips for conducting research or making partnerships work. Attendees had ample time for networking during a poster session where presenters had the opportunity to share their work and their research needs, and identify potential avenues for partnership. Information Exchange Hubs also allowed participants to have more in depth conversations with community and academic experts on a variety of research topics such as using local data, hearing the client voice and evaluation. A group discussion about how to move partnerships forward closed out the half day event.
