Research
The Region of Peel Archives is pleased to
announce that our staff will undertake research
on your behalf.
For those who are
not able to come to the Archives in person, the
Staff can undertake limited research on a fee
for service basis. The charge for this service
is $25.00 per hour (or part thereof), with a 4
hour maximum per request.
- Compose an e-mail that is clear and concise.
- Include the name of the individual, family,
business or subject that you wish us to research.
- For a genealogical search please include as
many birth, marriage and death dates, names
of parents, sibling(s), and children as you
can, and try to be as specific as possible about
the place of residence.
- Ask one or two specific questions. Remember
that our time for researching is limited.
- Mention any previous correspondence or enquiries
you have had with us, so that we can avoid duplication.
- Make sure you have included your mailing address
and telephone number.
- Photocopies and prints from microfilm are
.50 cents per page, and are not included with
the hourly charge.
- We require payment in advance. Please send
your credit card information (VISA or
MASTER CARD), and expiry date. Alternatively
a personal cheque, with the words "not
to exceed 'x' dollars" written on the
front. Leave the amount and figures blank. Money
orders are also accepted. Payment should be
made to "Region of Peel Archives".
- Residents of the United States may send personal
cheques in US dollars for the Canadian dollar
amount.
- Under normal circumstances a report on your
request will be prepared and sent within 2 weeks.
If a longer delay is anticipated you will be
notified.
- Inquiries will be answered on a first come,
first serve basis.
