A Swingin' Good Time at the Peel Heritage Complex

On Saturday, Oct. 15 the Peel Heritage Complex was the hottest joint in town as they hosted Swing Time at the PHC, a 1950’s themed fundraiser in support of programs at the Complex.

Over 120 guests moved and grooved to the sounds of the 40’s and 50’s as they were serenaded by a live performance from Swing Rosie, a trio of boogie-woogie chorus girls from Toronto.

The Peel Heritage Complex was literally transformed into a 1950’s swing hall, elaborately decorated with authentic war posters, records and clothing right out of the Complex’s collection of pieces from the era.

The bidding at the silent auction was heated as guests competed for a number of original art works by artists featured in the art gallery and the Whitney Community Gallery. A number of works donated by local, national and international artists were also auctioned off in addition to gift packages donated by several local businesses.

Proceeds from Swing Time at the PHC went towards the arts heritage fund in support of children’s and senior’s programs at the Complex.

The Peel Heritage Complex gratefully acknowledges the support of Colony Ford Lincoln Sales Inc., Brampton for helping to make this event possible.
