The Peel Heritage Complex (PHC) is always on the look-out for volunteers. Volunteers play an integral role in the operation of the PHC. Throughout the year, their participation in a variety of events including the annual Yard Sale, Walking Tours and Heritage Day are keys successful yearly events.
A variety of volunteer positions include archives research, administrative assistance, exhibition preparation which can include painting and helping to install shows, and assisting with fundraising events.
Youth Volunteers:
The majority of youth volunteer positions are available in the summer months from June to early August. Students interested in gaining workplace experience, deciding on an education path or completing their mandatory community service hours are encouraged to apply. Scheduling for youth volunteers for summer months usually occurs in May and early June. Applicants who apply before or during this period will have a larger selection of volunteer opportunities available to them compared to those who apply later in the summer.
The PHC strives to offer opportunities to those who will gain the most from their experience here. Your enthusiasm for the arts, want for a career in heritage, or a passion for community development will make it more likely to find a role for you here.
Ideal candidates have an interest in gaining experience in an archive, museum, or art gallery. Volunteer positions vary in terms of the level of commitment needed, term of the project, skills required and skills that will be gained.
