Wyn Geleynse

Did you ever think that when you walked down a street casually glancing into the windows of a building, that the building might be staring back at you?

The Peel Projection is a form of public installation art, a new way for artists to take art out of the gallery setting in which we usually view it, and allow it to enter our lives by occupying the everyday landscape.

Created by international multi-media artist Wyn Geleynse, the installation consists of two rear-projected moving images of eyes on the building’s upper windows. As a reference to the growing presence of surveillance cameras in urban settings, the eyes appear to observe but at the same time draw us to their inner world.

The Peel Projection faces Gage Park from the site of the soon-to-be renovated new Art Gallery of Peel – part of the Region’s Peel Heritage Complex.
