EXHIBITS
Peel Heritage Complex looks forward to showcasing significant local and international exhibitions.
The new Museum
In our expanded Museum spaces, we’re planning new displays to give visitors an engaging experience. “Hey, I didn’t know that….” is a phrase we hope to hear every day.
“The Peel Story” will be one of the overarching concepts for new museum exhibitions. It is a story where immigration, innovation and land development have been constant themes from earliest times to today.
Community involvment in exhibition planning include:
- suggestions via the website
- input through the exhibition committee and Advisory Board
- suggestion form in an upcoming issue of Strata
- comment cards within the exhibition areas
- creation of a new community connections committee
We’d love to hear from you.
The new Art Gallery
During the temporary closure period, Art Gallery staff are working on an exciting array of exhibitions featuring works by artists from local, regional and national spheres. With nearly triple our former exhibition space, Art Gallery visitors will be assured of a wide variety of changing shows – plus ongoing exhibitions drawn from our outstanding Permanent Collection.

Drawn Down is a sculptural work by Carl Tacon commissioned by our Art Gallery Committee. Installed on the grounds of the Peel Heritage Complex in 2011, it will visually reference our building's history as the former Peel County Jail. The photo above shows the work in progress, in the artist's studio.
