Oct. 4, 2007 marks 50 years since the world had its first glimpse of the Canadian built supersonic interceptor, the AVRO Arrow.
Designed and manufactured in Malton, the Arrow project was terminated in dramatic fashion less than two years later.
For the tens of thousands of people whose livelihood depended on their AVRO paycheque and for millions across the country ready to watch Canadian technology soar, life would never be the same.
Visit the AVRO Arrow exhibition at the Region of Peel Museum located at 9 Wellington St. E. in Brampton.
The Museum is open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; weekends from noon to 4:30 p.m.; and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m.
