All Dressed up with Somewhere to Go; highlights of the Region of Peel Museum’s textile collection
Whether its ‘up’ or ‘down’ – getting dressed is a fact of life! Explore 150 years of clothing in this fascinating look at what we’ve worn for work, play and much more.
From the homespun simplicity of early settler’s dresses to the beaded creations of the flapper era and the dramatic silhouettes of the 1950s – All Dressed Up will examine the changes in styles and fashion throughout the years. Along with the clothing and accessories, archival sources such as letters and diaries will add fascinating stories of local people connected to the clothing and eras being depicted. Adding colour to the exhibition will also be selections from the Permanent Collection of the Art Gallery of Peel.
