Thivya
and Amy interviewed Deloris Reid:
"When
Deloris was a child she had quite a few
pets. She had a parrot, three dogs, and
even a monkey! Deloris says that she realy
enjoyed sewing. Another hobby that Deloris
enjoys is partying! She said that in Guyana
she and her friends would have lots of parties.
The
reason Deloris came to Canada was that all
of her relatives lived here. They asked
her to move here so they could be together.
Deloris moved here 15 years ago and she
really likes Canada."

Alyssa
and Abigail interviewed Georgina Peel:
"Our
eldest daughter and her husband came here
to Canada in search of work. Then they asked
us to come in 1991. They took us all over.
We thoroughly enjoyed it. That's when we
decided to come.
During
my first job I was a seamstress at the convent.
I loved that job, but the pay was little.
In my next job I was an elevator operator.
At one time I worked in a factory. I worked
in a hospital for a long time, I was an
assistant nurse. In my ward I looked after
he elderly. I loved that job.
I
love to read, sewing, crochet, but my eyesight
is worse now and it's hard to read. Nowadays,
my husband is my eyes."

Jeffrey,
Jake, Tomek, Danny and Wojtek interviewed
Roman Aman:
"Roman
has travelled to a large number of countries
therefore Roman has learned many languages
along the way, including: English, French,
Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, "Grenyana"
and "Amharic". Roman's father,
Abraha was a language professor, so Roman
had some influence on languages. Roman was
able to speak English before she arrived
to Canada. But one cold winter day Roman
came to Canada, after realizing how bad
a Canadian winter can be Roman was sceptical
about staying. But Roman being the fighter
that she is and always will be, decided
to stay in Canada, where she has lived a
great and successful life. Although she
had travelled all over the world she will
never forget her homeland Asmara located
in northern Africa bordering on the Red
Sea."

Laura
and Jennifer interviewed Celcie and Patrick
Denipitya:
"When
Celcie and her sister were young, they had
to do a lot of housework with their mother
all day. Her mother tried to teach Celcie
how to cook but she wasn't very good at
it so she longed for the talent of cookery.
Before
Celcie and Patrick came to Canada they lived
in Sri Lanka with their three lovely children.
When one of their sons left home and became
an airline assistant (still on the island
of Sri Lanka), their daughter decided that
her best chance at her choice of job was
in Canada. So she ventured into the unknown
world and left behind all she'd ever known.
Their other son had just recently started
studying at a university to become a technician.
After
a few years, their daughter supported her
parents to come to Canada, but Celcie decided
not to leave Sri Lanka just yet. She was
going to wait until her son had finished
his studies at University. So in 1990 Patrick
Denipitiya went to Canada, and three years
later Celcie joined her husband and daughter
in the wonderful country of Canada."
Sadaf
and Masha interviewed Pearl Duhaney:
"When
we asked about her children she said with
excitement that she has 2 boys, a girl and
grandchildren, but when she decided to come
to Canada two of her children chose to stay
in Jamaica.
As
we concluded our interview with Pearl we
found out that she had an interesting childhood
and we found out also that things were very
different back then. Pearl was a very kind
person for letting us interview her. We
hope that she enjoys this biography."

Leanne
interviewed Elsie Ashley:
"She
is a very funny person and a quote she said
was " I can only swear in French".
She said this because we asked her if she
knew how to speak any other languages.
She
was brought up in an orphanage in Toronto
called the True Blue and Orange Home. Later
on she was put into a convent, which she
hated very much, mostly because the nuns
had no sense of humour.
When
Mrs. Ashley moved to Ontario she got a job
as a chef on a train which toured all through
the country.
When
Mrs. Ashley was younger her dream was to
be a mom with a lot of children. Her dream
came true."
Nastazja,
Jorge, and Thomas interviewed Bobbi Borden:
"Bobbie
Borden is a very unique and interesting
person. Bobbie feels like she is about 49
years old. She only had two jobs in her
whole life. She worked at the post office
and at a bubble gum company."
any
many many more....
