Working up a sweat on the Health Walk with Peel Health partners |
There were plenty of smiles, fun and a lot of history as The Peel Heritage Complex hosted its annual Walk for the Art of It on Saturday, June 18, 2005. The streets were bustling with excitement as more than 115 participants took part in historic walks along the scenic Etobicoke Creek Trail and downtown locations.
The event kicked off at 10 a.m. with a Health Walk along the Etobicoke Creek trail, led by Peel Health and staff from the City of Brampton Parks and Recreation Department. At 11:30 a.m., members of the Brampton Heritage Board led walkers on a tour of historic architecture in the area. Finally, a Nature Walk along the Etobicoke Creek Trail was led by staff from the Toronto Region Conservation Authority who pointed out natural elements along the trail.

Kids enjoyed the free craft activities |
Afterwards, there was plenty to see and do as walkers were treated to refreshments and free draws, and kids got creative at the kids craft corner.
“Walk for the Art of It is a great opportunity for the Heritage Complex to partner with other Regional departments and the community,” said Josie Premzell, Development Officer, Peel Heritage Complex. “We are pleased to host such a great event and we are continually pleased with the response we receive from the community.”
