About Peel Living
Who We Are
Peel Living is a non-profit housing corporation, incorporated in 1976
and is one of the largest and most respected affordable housing
companies in Canada. Our mission is to provide safe, secure and
affordable housing to families, seniors, singles and persons with
special needs. Our residents are representative of the population in
the Peel community.
Peel Living operates affordable rental housing for residents of
Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga.We manage properties
throughout the Region of Peel, from the Lakeshore in Mississauga to
Alton in the Town of Caledon and the portfolio includes more than
70 properties and 7,100 homes. Our buildings include high and lowrise
apartments, townhouses, group homes and a manufactured home
park. Peel Living staff work with service agencies within the community
such as Peel Senior Link and Supportive Housing In Peel to provide
necessary services and supports to residents with specific needs.

Peel Living Board of Directors
Peel Living is our marketing name. Our corporate name is Peel
Housing Corporation. It is governed by a Board of Directors made
up of elected members of Peel Regional Council.The Board
approves Peel Living policies, legal contracts and spending priorities.
Residents may attend Board meetings at 10 Peel Centre Drive,
Brampton, except when confidential matters are being discussed.

The amount of annual operational subsidy Peel Living receives from
the government is fixed and increasing operating costs are covered
by raising market rents.Therefore, it is important for residents and
staff to work together to look after our Peel Living sites.

Crime-Free Housing Strategy
Peel Living takes its responsibility seriously to provide a comfortable
and safe environment for all residents. Peel Living has adopted a
policy that requires staff to take action to terminate the tenancy of
any resident that is involved in an illegal act.
Peel Living has an obligation to all residents to ensure your "reasonable
enjoyment" of the accommodation.To achieve this, we need your cooperation
to report behaviour that is illegal or threatening to other
residents or the property.
If you see or suspect anyone engaging in illegal activity or if an
emergency situation arises, please call Peel Regional Police at 905-453-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477,
then contact your
RSR at 905-453-4900.
Peel Living has zero tolerance for the following acts:
- any drug related activity;
- assault or threatened assault;
- unlawful use or possession of a firearm;
- street gang activity;
- any activity that threatens the health, safety or welfare of the
landlord and other residents or persons on the residential premises;
- solicitation (sex trade workers and related nuisance activity).

Code of Conduct of Peel Living Employees
All staff are Regional employees and a code of conduct exists to
ensure high standards of service and conduct. Staff may not:
- accept tips, money or gifts from residents at any time;
- sell items or services to residents;
- buy or take property or personal belongings from residents,
their families or their estates, or use it for personal gain;
- accept gifts or other items from residents in return for service;
- accept payment for service during or after work hours;
- borrow money or any item from residents;
- come to work in an unfit condition due to alcohol or drug use;
- abuse tenants, staff members, service agency representatives or
anyone else in the workplace, either verbally or physically.
