What is STAC?

The Stakeholders Transition Advisory Committee (STAC) is the team representing social housing and service providers in Peel.

STAC's mandate is to assist the Region of Peel Housing and Property Department's Devolution Policy Committee on issues related to the devolution of social housing administration. It was established to provide input and advice regarding issues of municipal discretion to the Region's Service Manager (Region of Peel Council) for social housing in Peel.

Past and Current Agenda Items

Some of the local issues discussed at STAC include: Medical priority Service Manager Internal Review (Appeals) Grandfathering waiting lists Absence from unit Seniors Age cut off Occupancy Guidelines Once a proposed decision has been reached, the item, if necessary, is presented to Regional Council for approval. Once a decision has been finalized, we send out communications to housing providers.

Communication

STAC provides feedback for communication needs of the provider community. The Region of Peel uses three types of communications tools: HIP Monthly delivers helpful information on social housing in Peel, HIP Update delievers up to date, urgent information and HIP Policies & Procedures delivers information on local rules.

STAC plays a valuable role in helping the Region build meaningful partnerships with all social housing and service providers in Peel.

Meetings

STAC meetings are held bi-monthly, on the second Tuesday of the month.
