      Environmental Day -
              An Energizing Experience

    Volume 13

It’s hard to imagine that a Regional event, requiring staff to put in eight hours of physical labour donning hard hats, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, vests and gloves could inspire true team spirit.

But the Region’s annual Environment Day events do just that! Always flashing a smile, these seemingly tireless environmental ambassadors manoeuvre residents through a myriad of recycling drop-off stations.

More than 50 tonnes of household hazardous waste, reusable goods and a variety of recyclable items are dropped off in one day. Residents’ trunks are then filled with bags of garden compost in exchange for a donation to a local food bank.

Working together, we’re making a difference in our community and that naturally feels good!
