    Global Perspectives
For me, the only thing permanent has been change. Since childhood, change has caused a world of emotion, experience and learning for me. I’ve dreadedit, embraced it, accepted it and craved it. And every emotional path has been a journey, an experience to treasure.

As a child, I travelled with my parents to different parts of the world. From Switzerland to Stuttgart, from Bangkok to Nairobi, from Denmark to Santiago – every time we moved I longed for nothing more than to stay. I hankered for the life I was leaving behind: my friends, teachers and neighbourhood.

I could brood, feel sorry or get excited. But over time, the pace of movement and the spirit of newness began to outweigh complacency. Looking back, my most treasured memories are with my friends. At the time, it was very painful to leave them behind and meet a new circle. But in hindsight, I now realize that I didn’t lose any friends. I made a larger circle of friends that now spans across the globe.

I still love to travel. And when I do, I look for change. I have found a steadiness, a familiarity with the unfamiliar. I find myself reviewing my ability to adapt and am able to acknowledge and understand the newness. Being in new situations has provided me with ideas on how to look for innovative ways to better myself. It is a journey and a very exciting one!
