With higher gas prices, articles and surveys report that extended family vacations are becoming less frequent, and families are looking for options that are closer to home.  Grown in Peel is your guide to vegetable and fruit farms in Peel region. It helps you find fresh, great-tasting food choices close to home – and the opportunity to make a day of it.
A joint initiative between Health Services and ETPS, Grown in Peel features 21 farms and two markets that are all within a 45 minute drive from any location within Peel; many of the locations are even closer.  These farms feature vegetables, fruit and a variety of farm produce – from apples to zucchinis, and everything in between.
Best of all, the map and website provide detailed information about the peak growing seasons and ideal picking times for more than 50 of your favourite vegetables and fruit – in spring, summer and fall. You can even find Christmas trees for winter.
