Peel Childrens
Water Festival
Over 5,200 Grade 2 to 5 students had the
opportunity to learn about the importance
of water in everyday life through over 50
hands-on, water-related activities. Some
students practised techniques used to clean
up the environment after an oil spill while
others were "fluoridized" as water
drops flowing through the water treatment
process. There were over 500 volunteers
at the week-long event, including many Regional
employees who took time out of their busy
schedules to make the Festival a success.

2002 United Way
Employee Campaign Kick-Off
Joan Rivers, a stretch limo, and rock stars
such as Paul Stanley could only mean one
thing the 2002 United Way Employee
Campaign kick-off. A debut performance by
the Tragically Un-Hip, a band
featuring members of the Executive Management
Team, launched the campaign with a rendition
of the Beatles song Come Together.
From United Way committee members to enthusiastic
fans eager to get a glimpse of the latest
rock sensation, Region of Peel employees
really came together to make this event
unforgettable.

Childrens
Christmas Party
When you think of Christmas its hard
not to think of children. The sound of children
laughing was certainly present at the Regions
Annual Childrens Christmas Party,
held at the Brampton Fair Grounds on Dec.
1. Games, gifts, scrumptious treats and
most importantly a visit by Santa Claus
were all part of the fun-filled afternoon.

Family Picnic
Approximately 250 Regional employees and their
families did not let temperamental weather
conditions stand in the way of a good time
at Peels Family Picnic, held at Heart
Lake Conservation in Brampton on June 15.
A range of activities for all ages, including
fencing demonstrations, face painting, air
castles, a children's play area and relay
games kept the young and young-at-heart busy
between the intermittent raindrops. Even the
Regional mascots from Public Works and Health
managed to stay dry! |
