  • Carolyn is the Director of Long Term Care for the Regional Municipality of Peel. She oversees the management and operations of the Region of Peel's five long-term care homes and Community Support Services. She is also a member of the leadership team for community health services operated by the Region of Peel.

    Past roles and accomplishments

    Carolyn Clubine - Director of Long Term CareCarolyn started her career with the Region of Peel as part of the Activation team at Sheridan Villa. Subsequent roles with social housing and social assistance highlighted for her the needs of Peel's community and citizens, and the importance of a support network that keeps seniors healthy, active and independent.

    The next phase of her career saw her take on various leadership roles that included Administrator of several homes: the Davis Centre in Caledon, and Peel Manor and Tall Pines in Brampton. She successfully led the development of Peel's two most recent long-term care centres, which opened in 2004.

    Transitioning into the role of Director of Long Term Care came naturally for Carolyn. It allowed her to continue to build strong relationships with local health and social service partners, as well as advocate for improving services to the elderly.

    Building strong partnerships

    In 2011, Carolyn led Peel's Long Term Care division's successful effort to secure accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

    Carolyn is a member of the Board of the Ontario Association of Non-Profit Homes and Services for Seniors (OANHSS), and the Association of Municipalities of Ontario Long Term Care Advisory Committee.

    As part of numerous expert panels both locally and provincially, Carolyn has also:

    • Sat on a steering committee for Ontario Seniors Secretariat and helped develop the Diversity in Action toolkit
    • Contributed to seniors service planning with the Mississauga-Halton and Central West Local Health Integration Networks
    • Worked with Concerned Friends on a diversity initiative
    • Participated on a reference panel for the development of a comprehensive Seniors Master Plan examining services across the aging spectrum for Peel Region
    • Served as the sector advisor for the development of the first Multi-Sector Service Accountability Agreement (M SAA) and Long Term Care Service Accountability Agreement (L SAA) between Ontario's Local Health Integration Networks and service providers in both long-term care and community services.

    Education and certifications

    As a Certified Health Executive with Canadian College of Health Leaders, Carolyn holds an Honours Degree in Physical and Health Education from the University of Western Ontario, and a Canadian Healthcare Association designation in Long Term Care Management.
