Attention Teachers -
Grade Two Students Now Invited To
Peel Children's Water Festival

(Brampton) - Grade two students across the Region of Peel are now invited to the Peel Children's Water Festival, taking place on June 6, 7, 8, 11 and 12, 2001 at the Vic Johnston Community Centre and Streetsville Memorial Park.

Approximately 2,000 students in Grades three, four and five are already signed up for the annual Festival. With more than 50 activities, including 15 new activity centres that meet Ontario Curriculum requirements for Science and Technology, students will be treated to an active and fun-filled day of water education, live entertainment and amusement.

"It's a festival you don't want your children to miss," said Lesley Radman, Festival Chair and Technical Analyst in Operations with the Region of Peel. "We are currently accepting registrations, but as the warm weather approaches, spaces will fill up fast."

The Peel Children's Water Festival is a five-day playful and educational event designed to give students hands-on learning about the importance of water resources to everyday life. Through various activity centres and displays, students will learn about water in the environment, water quality, distribution, conservation and usage.

The cost is $6 per student, which includes bus travel and entertainment. Free admission for teachers and adult supervisors.
