REGION OF PEEL RESIDENTS ENCOURAGED TO TRY IT 4 FREE AT PEEL HEALTH'S SUMMERACTIVE EVENT, SATURDAY, JUNE 16

(Brampton) - Region of Peel residents aged 35 to 49 can learn easy and enjoyable ways to increase their level of physical activity at Peel Health's FREE Try It event on Saturday, June 16, 2001. The Try It event, which is part of this year's national SummerActive campaign, will be held at the Cawthra Community Centre from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Visitors to the FREE Try It event can enjoy yoga, walk-and-tone, basic fitness and displays. Each person who participates in the Try It events and completes a ballot will receive a FREE one-day pass to any City of Mississauga Recreation and Parks facility. Participants can also enter for a chance to win great prizes.

Regular physical activity has been shown to reduce stress, increase energy and improve self-esteem. It is also critical to reduce the risk of heart disease, adult-onset diabetes, colon cancer, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, depression and premature death. Cawthra Community Centre is located on Cawthra Road, south of the QEW. For more information, call Health Line Peel at 905-799-7700.
