Region Of Peel Recognizes Emergency Preparedness Week
May 7 To 13, 2001
(Brampton) - May 7 to 13, 2001 has been proclaimed National Emergency Preparedness Week in the Region of Peel. The Region of Peel is partnering with the City of Brampton and other agencies to co-ordinate a variety of public outreach activities.
"Emergency Preparedness Week encourages Peel residents to reflect on their own level of preparedness in the event of a natural or man-induced disaster," says Joseph Moore, General Manager, Ambulance and Emergency Programs. "It is also an opportunity to inform residents about the Region's emergency management ability through its Emergency Measures Plan."
Activities planned for Emergency Preparedness Week include:
- "Lunch and Learn" session at the City of Brampton City Hall Atrium on Wednesday,
May 9, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Live broadcast on CITY TV's Breakfast Television of the Opening Ceremony with Regional Chair Emil Kolb, local MPs, MPPs and other officials at Bramalea City Centre on Thursday, May 10
