Region Of Peel 'Kicks Off' United Way Employee Campaign

(Brampton) - The Region of Peel today launched the start of the 2001 United Way Employee Campaign with an official Regional 'kick' involving Regional Chair Emil Kolb, Chief Administrative Officer Roger Maloney and Members of Senior Management Team.

"Every year Regional staff enthusiastically support the United Way," said Roger Maloney. "Staff have already held a number of departmental fund raising events. I'm looking forward to another fun and successful campaign."

The Region's 2001 Campaign goal is $130,000. Employees are organizing many workplace events to raise awareness and support for the United Way and its agencies. Scheduled events include a Car Rally, Stretcher Race, Bagel Breakfast and Art Show and Sale.

"Staff spirit is high," said Nancy Mott-Allen, Co-chair, 2001 United Way Employee Campaign. "Our ultimate goal is to raise staff awareness about United Way agencies and how their donations really make a difference to those who need it most. We're gearing up for a great campaign."

On Wednesday, Oct. 17, Regional employees will participate in Days of Caring, an event that allows employees to volunteer their time and talent for a day to a United Way funded agency.

Last year, Regional employees raised $144,969 for United Way agencies across Peel.
