Regional Council Approves Repairs to Mount Charles Bridge, Mississauga
(Brampton) - Regional Council yesterday approved repairs to the Mount Charles Bridge on Derry Road and east of Dixie Road, in the City of Mississauga, as part of Peel's bridge maintenance program.
Two lanes will be open in each direction on Derry Road across the bridge at all times, including left turn lanes operating from Derry Road to Dixie Road. The repair work on the bridge will commence September 19 and is expected to be completed by December, 2001.
"We take pride in being leaders in the Public Works industry," said Public Works Commissioner Mitch Zamojc, "That comes from managing our road and bridge network in the most cost effective manner and with minimal inconvenience to drivers."
The cost of the repairs totals approximately $577,000. The work will be carried out by Soncin Construction on behalf of the Region.
