Moment of Silence Honours Fallen Paramedics

(Brampton) - Paramedics who have lost their lives in the line of duty were honoured today in a moment of silence ceremony presented by Peel Regional Ambulance Services at their Operational Headquarters in Mississauga.

As part of Paramedic Week in Peel, paramedics and emergency medical services employees gathered together to remember their fallen colleagues in a brief ceremony.

"Paramedics are renowned for putting the needs of the community ahead of their own," said Joseph Moore, General Manager, Ambulance and Emergency Programs. "This is an especially poignant and appropriate time to recognize the remarkable contributions made by our emergency medical services professionals."

Paramedic Week in Peel, taking place September 24 to 29, is a week-long event designed to foster awareness of critical emergency medical services provided by the Region of Peel.
