(Brampton) - On Feb. 8, Adult Day Program at Malton Village Long Term Care Centre officially opened its doors for older adults living in Mississauga. The Program offers participants social, therapeutic and recreational activities in a supervised setting.

"We are excited to welcome older adults to participate in our Adult Day Program and enjoy personal attention, stimulating activities, events and social interaction in a safe and nurturing environment," said Wendy Beattie, Administrator of Malton Village.

At Malton Village, the Adult Day Program takes place in a spacious room complete with kitchen, comfortable furniture and rest areas. The Program participants enjoy exercise, games, cooking, gardening, woodworking, reading, discussion groups, outings and special events. They often take part in activities offered to Malton Village residents, including social and therapeutic programs and fundraising events. All activities are led by professional staff.

"On behalf of the residents and my colleagues on Council, I congratulate Malton Village on the opening of the Adult Day Program. Caring for older adults is more than just meeting their healthcare needs; it's about engaging them in a variety of activities that are meaningful for them. The Adult Day Program gives the participants an opportunity to remain active members of the community and continue enjoying life," said Regional Councillor Eve Adams.
