Celebration of Firsts at Tall Pines

(Brampton) - Tall Pines lobby and Town Hall were packed with residents, family members and guests who gathered on Saturday, April 16, to mark the centre's first anniversary. It was a celebration of firsts - the first admission, the first meal, the first physiotherapy session, the first community outing. It was also a day filled with emotions, pride and joy for what was accomplished in just one year.

Since opening its doors, Tall Pines Long Term Care Centre has had many achievements including receiving Accreditation from the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation, celebrating the Grand Opening last June, and receiving Workplace Quality and Quality of Care Awards from the Ontario Association of Non Profit Homes and Services for Seniors.

"In every first, we have been on a journey to learn and grow and find the better way to get the results we want," said Carolyn Clubine, Administrator of Tall Pines. "It is a double blessing for me to see the fruit of all this work, in a Centre that is home in every sense of the word! The bricks and mortar helped bring us together but what will keep us here is genuine caring and passion for service to other people on their own life journey. Thank you to everyone who has been part of our first year together."

Tall Pines is a new generation long-term care centre with spacious rooms and hallways, recreational rooms, spa rooms and two beautiful enclosed gardens. A home to over 140 residents, the centre's philosophy is C.A.R.E. which means Care and Respect Everyday. Some of the services offered to residents include 24-hour nursing care, medical care, physiotherapy, recreational programs, spiritual care, and personal nutrition plan.

In one year of being in Brampton, Tall Pines has become known in its community and is often visited by local choir and dance groups, children and entertainers.

Tall Pines is located at 1001 Peter Robertson Blvd. in Brampton. Currently, the Centre has vacant beds available. For more information about the centre, please call 905-791-2449 or visit www.peel-longtermcare.ca.
