Tim Teddy Joins Peel Paramedic Services Bringing Comfort to Kids in Crisis

(Brampton) – In any emergency situation, children are the most vulnerable and should feel comforted and safe. That is why the Peel Paramedic Association (PPA) and Tim Hortons are generously donating cuddly teddy bears to Peel Regional Paramedic Services. The bears will be given to children involved in an accident or emergency to help reduce the anxiety and stress experienced.

“On behalf of Peel Paramedic Services, I would like to thank the Peel Paramedic Association and Tim Hortons for supporting our service and the Peel community through the compassionate and generous Tim Teddy program,” said Regional Councillor Paul Palleschi, who is also Chair of the Region’s Emergency Protective Services Committee.

Incidents involving children are among the most difficult situations paramedics face when answering emergency calls.

“Children will now have an extra comfort to hold onto in serious and often frightening situations,” said Brent Gorzynski, Peel paramedic and member of the PPA.

“Tim Hortons is very proud to initiate the Tim Teddy program and we are very pleased to partner with the Peel Paramedic Association to deliver this program to the community,” said Drew McLennan, Tim Hortons store owner. “All of the store owners in Mississauga contributed to this worthy cause. It’s just our way of giving back to the city we serve.”

The PPA is an independent advocacy group aimed at promoting the paramedic profession and emergency medical services in Peel.

Peel paramedics are managed by Peel Regional Paramedic Services and provide quality and efficient pre-hospital care in Peel. Responding to more than 85,000 emergency calls every year, Peel paramedics are the closest thing to an emergency room outside a hospital.
