Region of Peel Civic Holiday Hours

BRAMPTON, ON. (July 28, 2008) – Region of Peel offices and non-emergency services will be closed on Monday, Aug. 4 for the Civic Holiday. Region of Peel headquarters and most offices will re-open for regular business on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

Residents in the Cities of Brampton and Mississauga are reminded there will be no waste collection on Monday, Aug. 4. Garbage and recycling (blue box, green bin and yard waste) will be collected one day later for the remainder of the week.

The following is a revised waste collection schedule for Brampton and Mississauga:

There will be no change to the waste collection schedule in the Town of Caledon. Garbage and recycling (blue box, green bin and yard waste) will be collected on your regularly scheduled waste collection day.

Peel’s Community Recycling Centres will be closed on Monday, Aug. 4 and will re-open on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

All breastfeeding clinic services offered at the Bolton and Brampton Breastfeeding Clinics, the Peel Public Health Clinic – Meadowvale and the Malton Breastfeeding Clinic will be closed on Monday, Aug. 4 and will re-open on Tuesday, Aug. 5, except for the Bolton Breastfeeding Clinic, which will re-open on Friday, Aug. 8.

Learn.Play.Care. Child Care Centres will be closed on Monday, Aug. 4 and will re-open on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

Ontario Works in Peel offices and the Employment Resource Centres (Millcreek and Peel Youth Village offices in Mississauga; and Coventry offices in Brampton) will be closed on Monday, Aug. 4 and will re-open on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

Peel Access to Housing, Peel Livingand Rent Supplement offices will be closed on Monday, Aug. 4 and will re-open on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

The Peel Heritage Complex will be closed on Monday, Aug. 4, and will re-open on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

Peel Public Health Reception (44 Peel Centre Dr.) will be closed on Monday, Aug. 4 and will resume regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

The West Nile Dead Bird Surveillance Phone Line will operate on a holiday schedule Monday, Aug. 4 and will be active from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. will resume on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

All Healthy Sexuality Clinics will be closed on Monday, Aug. 4 and will resume regular service on Tuesday, Aug. 5. The Bolton clinic will be open on Tuesday, Aug. 5 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and will resume regular hours of operation on Monday, Aug. 11.

TransHelp will operate on a holiday schedule from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 4. The office will also be closed this day. Transportation service will be provided by our taxi providers. Regular TransHelp service and office hours will resume on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
