Peel Region to Brief Federal Candidates

What: The Government Relations Committee of Peel Region Council has invited all federal election candidates in Peel ridings to attend an information session about Region of Peel issues
Why:

The Government Relations Committee wants candidates in Peel ridings to understand priority issues affecting residents of the Region including:

  • Reducing poverty
  • Affordable housing
  • Immigration
  • Employment insurance
  • Health care

Candidates will leave with a questionnaire and be invited to return it with their positions on those issues which will be shared with Peel residents.

When: Monday, Sept. 22, 2008
9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Where: Regional Administrative Headquarters
Council Chambers - 5th Floor
10 Peel Centre Dr., Brampton, Ontario

The Government Relations Committee was established in 2007 to coordinate, develop, implement, and monitor intergovernmental relations on behalf of the Council of the Region of Peel with Members of the Provincial Legislature and the Provincial Government, Members of the Parliament of Canada and the Government of Canada, and related governmental agencies, including area municipalities.
