Peel Paramedics Bring Christmas Cheer to Peel Children’s Centre

BRAMPTON, ON. (Dec. 17, 2010) – Peel Paramedics delivered an ambulance filled with toys at Peel Children’s Centre (PCC) today. The group was met by smiling faces excited to receive the hundreds of gifts for the children and youth who use their services.

"I’m proud of the kindness our paramedics have shown the young people of Peel Children’s Centre,” says Chief Peter Dundas, Peel Regional Paramedic Services. “We are very happy to support an organization that provides such important care and services."

Each year Peel Regional Paramedic Services and the Peel Paramedic Association (PPA) partner to host a toy drive. The toys are donations from frontline paramedics and support staff.

“We are extremely grateful to the Peel Paramedic Service and Association for their generosity,” says PCC Executive Director, Humphrey Mitchell. “Receiving these gifts will show high-needs children and youth that the Peel community cares about their happiness – particularly during the holiday season.”

PCC is a fully accredited, charitable, not-for-profit children’s mental health centre that has served Peel since 1985. Each year PCC provides 5,700 services free-of-charge for children/youth under age 18, and their families, who are experiencing serious mental health challenges such as aggression, defiance, impulsivity, anxiety, depression, attachment disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and self-harm.
