Region of Peel Victoria Day Holiday Hours

BRAMPTON, ON. (May 18, 2010) – Region of Peel offices and non-emergency services will be closed for Victoria Day on Monday, May 24, 2010. Region of Peel headquarters and offices will re-open for regular business on Tuesday, May 25, 2010.

Residents in Brampton and Mississauga are reminded that there will be no waste collection on Monday, May 24 due to the Victoria Day holiday. Garbage and recycling (blue box, green bin and yard waste) will be collected one day later that week.

Residents in Caledon are advised that there will be no changes to their waste collection services due to the Victoria Day holiday on Monday, May 24. Garbage and recycling (blue box, green bin and yard waste) will be collected on regular collection days during that week.

All Community Recycling Centres will be closed on Monday, May 24 and will re-open on Tuesday, May 25.

All breastfeeding clinic services offered at the Brampton Breastfeeding Clinic and the Peel Public Health Clinic – Meadowvale will be closed on Monday, May 24. The clinics will
re-open on Tuesday, May 25. Breastfeeding clinics operate by appointment only. To book an appointment, please call 905-799-7700.

All Healthy Sexuality Clinics will be closed on Monday, May 24 and will resume regular hours of operation on Tuesday, May 25. The Bolton Healthy Sexuality Clinic will be closed on Monday, May 24 and instead will be open on Tuesday, May 25 from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.

The 44 Peel Centre Dr. Public Health Customer Service Contact Centre will be closed on Monday, May 24. Regular hours of business from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. will resume on Tuesday, May 25.

The following Human Services offices will be closed Monday, May 24 and will re-open on Tuesday, May 25:

  • Learn.Play.Care. Child Care Centres, Early Learning Services and Children’s Services Operations
  • Ontario Works in Peel and Employment Resource Centres (Millcreek and Peel Youth Village in Mississauga; and 10 Peel Centre Dr. in Brampton)
  • Peel Access to Housing, Peel Living and Rent Supplement (10 Peel Centre Dr. in Brampton)
  • Peel Heritage Complex has temporarily closed its doors for an exciting restoration and construction project. Visit www.peelheritagecomplex.org to ‘virtually’ visit the Region of Peel’s Museum, Archives and Art Gallery and learn about outreach programs, see drawings of the new space, and view expansion updates.
  • TransHelp service hours for Victoria Day will be from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. Service will be provided by our taxi vendors, but not available by bus. Accessible Transportation offices will be closed. Regular office hours and bus service will resume on Tuesday, May 25.
