Family Fun Day for All on May 29

BRAMPTON, ON. (May 19, 2010) Ė The Region of Peel once again invites families to learn about water and have fun together at Heart Lake Conservation Area on Saturday, May 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the Peel Childrenís Water Festivalís Family Fun Day.† Admission is free and activities and events run rain or shine.

"Family Fun Day has something for everyone," says Elaine Moore, Chair of the Public Works section of General Committee.† "Parents and children can spend the day together surrounded by the beauty of the Heart Lake Conservation Area and take part in over 50 activities and events that will make you laugh and learn with delight all at the same time."

Family Fun Day activities:

  • Watch the Extreme Bike Demo with performer Trevor Bodogh who defies gravity. 500 kids will also receive a Walk+Roll Peel bike bell.
  • Catch the Freddy Fusion Magic Show that dazzles audiences by making science come alive through magic.
  • Witness live, free-flight demonstrations that showcase the grace and beauty of various birds of prey.
    Get a closer look at reptiles and amphibians that are safe, friendly and easy to handle.
  • Bring a bathing suit and have some recreational fun in a state-of-the-art water playground located in the middle of wilderness. 
  • Release a live trout into Heart Lake to help restock it.

Families can bring a picnic lunch or support the United Way Charity Barbecue.† Visitors are also welcome to join in the celebration of the fifteenth Peel Childrenís Water Festival with free cake and group photo at 11 a.m.†

Note: Many activities are wheelchair accessible
