Region of Peel Canada Day Holiday Hours

BRAMPTON, ON. (June 24, 2010) – Region of Peel offices and non-emergency services will be closed for Canada Day on Thursday, July 1, 2010. Region of Peel headquarters and offices will re-open for regular business on Friday, July 2, 2010.

Residents in Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon are reminded that there will be no waste collection on Thursday, July 1 due to the Canada Day holiday. Garbage and recycling (blue box, green bin and yard waste) will be collected one day later for the remainder of that week.

Revised waste collection schedule for Brampton and Mississauga:

Regular Collection Day   Revised Collection Day
Monday, June 28 remains Monday, June 28
Tuesday, June 29 remains Tuesday, June 29
Wednesday, June 30 remains Wednesday, June 30
Thursday, July 1 collected on Friday, July 2

Revised waste collection schedule for Caledon:

TransHelp service hours for Canada Day will be from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. Service will be provided by our taxi vendors, but not available by bus. Accessible Transportation offices will be closed. Regular office hours and bus service will resume on Friday, July 2.

The following services will be closed on Thursday, July 1 and will re-open on Friday, July 2:

  • Peel’s Community Recycling Centres
  • Public Health Customer Service Contact Centre (44 Peel Centre Dr.)
  • Healthy Sexuality Clinics
  • Learn.Play.Care. Child Care Centres, Early Learning Services, Children’s Services Operations
  • Ontario Works in Peel and Employment Resource Centres
  • Peel Access to Housing, Peel Living and Rent Supplement
  • Brampton Breastfeeding Clinic
  • Peel Public Health Clinic - Meadowvale
