Receive $60 Instant Rebate on High Efficiency Toilets at Home Depot
BRAMPTON, ON. (Aug. 9, 2010) – In partnership with the Home Depot, the Region of Peel will provide $60 instant rebates on high efficiency toilets at select Home Depot locations Saturday, August 14 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The $60 Region of Peel instant rebate can be applied at the point of purchase to toilets labeled Peel-Approved that are either:
- Single-flush toilets less than or equal to 4.8 litres per flush;
- Dual-flush toilets with both:
- A reduced flush volume of less than or equal to 4.1 litres
- A full flush volume of less than or equal to six litres
Region of Peel staff will be at the following Home Depot locations to help residents fill out rebate application forms, assist with the selection of Peel-Approved toilet models, and answer any questions about water efficiency.
- 3065 Mavis Rd.
- 2920 Argentia Rd.
- 5975 Terry Fox Way
- 49 First Gulf Blvd.
- 60 Great Lakes Dr.
- 9105 Airport Rd.
To be eligible for the instant rebates applicants must live in Peel and own or rent a single or multi-family dwelling. Proof of residency such as a copy of a water bill or valid photo ID is required to verify their eligibility. The instant rebate applies to in-stock toilets only and there are no rain checks. Home Depot will also be offering over 30 per cent savings off the original purchase price of select high efficiency models. The additional savings offered by Home Depot are valid on Saturday, Aug. 14 and Sunday, Aug. 15 only. See participating stores for details.
Mail-in rebates are also available from the Region of Peel on an ongoing basis as part of the Toilet Replacement Program. In 2009, the Region of Peel provided more than 27,000 rebates to residents as incentive to phase out older less efficient (13-20 litres) toilet models. This initiative has saved more than two mega litres of water per day. The reduction in water and wastewater that requires treatment and distribution also contributes to reduced energy consumption and associated greenhouse gas emissions.
