Road Closure on Tomken Road in Mississauga Due to Watermain Repairs

BRAMPTON, ON. (Sept. 7, 2010) – Northbound and southbound lanes of Tomken Road between Britannia Road East and Timberlea Boulevard in Mississauga are currently closed due to a watermain break.

Region of Peel work crews are onsite working to fix the break. Commuters can expect delays and should avoid Tomken Road in this area. An estimated time for the lanes to re-open is not known, and the lanes are expected to be closed for several hours. An update will be provided as the repairs progress.

The Regional Municipality of Peel was incorporated in 1974 on the principle that certain community and infrastructure services are most cost-effectively administered over a larger geographic area. The Region of Peel serves more than one million residents in the Cities of Mississauga and Brampton and the Town of Caledon.
