North and South Bound Left Lanes on Dixie Road at Bloor Street Closed for Two Weeks

BRAMPTON, ON. (July 11, 2012) – The north and southbound left lanes on Dixie Road at Bloor Street in Mississauga will be closed for two weeks from July 16 to July 27. Digging will occur to investigate the soil conditions in preparation for the construction of the Hanlan Feedermain as part of the Hanlan Water Project.

Drivers can get updates on lane closures by calling the Hanlan Drivers’ Hotline at 1-855-hanlan1 (1-855-426-5261), by following the project on Twitter @hanlanwp or visiting the website at www.hanlanwaterproject.ca.

The Hanlan Water Project is the largest and most extensive infrastructure watermain project Peel has undertaken to date. Construction began in 2011 and is expected to be completed by mid-2016. The project is needed to meet the water demands of future population growth, including the Mississauga city centre core. The infrastructure will also provide operational flexibility in the event that the existing Hanlan Feedermain needs to be temporarily shut off for maintenance.
