Lanes Reopened on Dixie Road at Bloor Street

BRAMPTON, ON. (July 26, 2012) The north and southbound left lanes of Dixie Road at Bloor Street in Mississauga have been reopened and full lane access has been restored. The lanes had been closed to investigate the soil conditions in preparation for the construction of the Hanlan Feedermain as part of the Hanlan Water Project.

The Hanlan Water Project is the largest and most extensive infrastructure watermain project Peel has undertaken to date. Construction began in 2011 and is expected to be completed by mid-2016. The project is needed to meet the water demands of future population growth, including the Mississauga city centre core. The infrastructure will also provide operational flexibility in the event that the existing Hanlan Feedermain needs to be temporarily shut off for maintenance.
