Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives has Something for Everyone This Winter Break
BRAMPTON, ON (November 27, 2015) – The Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) is your family destination for a memorable outing this December. Explore new and permanent exhibitions, give back to your community, create artwork and enjoy hands-on fun.
GIVE BACK THIS HOLIDAY SEASON:
Giving Tuesday (Dec. 1): Help send 200 local students on an educational tour of PAMA as part of the global day of giving. Last year’s contributions enabled 76 students from Sir Winston Churchill School to enjoy a field trip and learn about arts and history in their community at PAMA.

$5 Homeless Care Packages: Purchase a child or adult care package as part of Through Our Eyes: Homeless in Peel, an exhibition exploring the lived experiences of homeless individuals and families. Donations of high demand necessities, including new socks, underwear and travel-sized toiletries, are also welcomed. All donations benefit homeless community members.
Knit@PAMA: Drop in to a free knitting session Thursday evenings from 6 – 8 p.m. and produce warm item for those in need. PAMA supplies the yarn – all levels welcomed.
Explore changing exhibitions in the Art Gallery including; Stephanie Rayner: Boat of Eternal Return, Point of Inspiration and Works on Paper from York Wilson as well as Stitched Together: The Art and Warmth of Quilts in the Museum Community Connections gallery. Uncover facts and stories about your community in our permanent exhibitions like the Story of the Peel County Jail, Innovation in Peel and Face of the Farmer to name a few.
Discover Manning Square, designed for kids to PLAY. Learn about What Kids Wore in the 19th Century, play dress-up, take a “selfie” with PAMA friends from the past, have fun with buckles, laces and buttons plus books, colouring and more! Explore all our museum spaces with lots of hands-on opportunities for little hands. Also don’t forget to complete our Winter Scavenger hunt and win a PAMA prize.
Create a colourful winter break portfolio at our Fun Family Weekend Activities (from 1-4 p.m.) and drop-in during our special Instructor-led Winter Break Activities and learn some great techniques in sculpture, watercolours and painting with acrylics (times vary; see pama.peelregion.ca for full details).
Last but not least during December, create a snowflake to help us decorate our holiday window.
