Community Information Meeting Regarding Peel Manor Long Term Care Redevelopment and Seniorsí Service Hub

BRAMPTON, ON. (Mar. 24, 2015) The Seniors Services Development Division of Peel Health is holding a community information meeting on Wednesday, March 25th at Peel Manor Long Term Care Centre to provide information about the proposed redevelopment on the Peel Manor site, and possible effects on the nearby Murray Street Park.  The meeting will be held at Peel Manor Long Term Care, in Huxley Hall, from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

In June 2014, Peel Regional Council approved the redevelopment of the site as a Seniors’ Services Hub. The Hub will continue to provide 177 long term care beds, including specialized care for individuals with complex conditions such as dementia. It will also expand the available Adult Day Services program spaces from 25 up to 100 clients. In addition to supporting Brampton Meals on Wheels, the hub will be developed to offer a range of other services that will help seniors to age in place, in their own homes in the community.

Residents in the area surrounding the long term care centre received invitations to the meeting before March break. The purpose of the meeting is to describe the conceptual plans and proposed timing for construction of the hub and to obtain input from the community about the project.
