Service Update: Possible Waste Collection Delays in the Cities of Brampton and Mississauga

BRAMPTON, ON (May 20, 2015) – Residents in the Cities of Brampton and Mississauga are advised that they may experience waste collection delays.   If residents' waste is not picked up on their scheduled collection day, they are asked to set it out again the following day. 

Residents are reminded of the following curbside set out guidelines:

  • place organics, recycling and garbage at the curb no later than 7 a.m. but no earlier than 7 p.m. the night before;
  • keep the weight of bags, containers and bundles of wood less than 20 kg (44 lb.) each;
  • remove any item that is used to keep container lids shut (e.g. bungee cords) before collection; and,
  • use containers with two handles that are attached or moulded to the exterior and have lids that are easy to remove

Please note: Landscaping/renovation/construction building materials (e.g. sod, soil, shale, cut stone, drywall, tiles and large amounts of wood), tires and automotive parts, waste electronics and household hazardous waste are not collected at the curb and can be dropped off at Peel Community Recycling Centres fees apply on some materials.
