Weekly Yard Waste Collection Starts Sept. 28, 2015 in Brampton and Mississauga

BRAMPTON, ON (Sept. 22, 2015) As of  Monday, Sept. 28 until Friday, Nov. 27 weekly yard waste collection begins in the Cities of Brampton and Mississauga on residents’ regularly scheduled collection day. 

Please ensure that all small bundles of brush, kraft paper bags or containers of yard waste are placed at the curb on collection day following these instructions:

  • small bundles of yard waste and brush must not exceed 1.2 m (4 ft.) and 76 cm (30  in.) in diameter and weigh no more than 20 kg (44 lbs.)
  • individual branches and tree limbs must not exceed 1.2 m (4 ft.) in length and 7.5 cm (3 in.) in diameter and weigh no more than 20 kg (44 lbs.)
  • place yard waste in labelled, open, rigid and reusable containers, bushel baskets, or paper yard waste bags
  • yard waste set out in plastic bags, recycling boxes or cardboard boxes, or weighing more than 20 kg (44 lbs.) will not be collected

Residents in the Canadian Food Inspection Agency Asian Long Horned Beetle quarantined area of Malton cannot move any yard waste, nursery stock, trees, logs, lumber, wood, wood chips and bark chips out of the restricted area. Yard waste in this area will be collected from the curbside on regularly scheduled collection days but cannot be accepted for drop-off at any of the Region’s Community Recycling Centres.
