Region of Peel Offers Two-Week Waste Exemption Period

BRAMPTON, ON (September 3, 2015) – From Tuesday, Sept. 8 to Friday, Sept. 18, following the Labour Day holiday, the Region will offer residents a two-week Exemption Period for curbside waste collection.

During the curbside waste collection Exemption Period, residents may place unlimited amounts of acceptable excess waste at the curb on their scheduled waste collection day. No garbage tags will be required for this period only.

Residents are encouraged to use the Exemption Period to clean out their garages, shed or basements make room for new waste collection carts. Delivery of carts begins Sept. 14.

City of Brampton: Sept. 14-Oct. 22
Caledon: Oct. 16-Oct. 28
Mississauga: Oct. 21-Dec. 5

Carts need to be stored until January 2016 when the new program starts.

The Region of Peel provides waste management services in the Cities of Brampton and Mississauga and in the Town of Caledon. Visit peelregion.ca/waste for more information on these programs.
