An Exciting Year of Celebration Ahead at Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives!

BRAMPTON, ON (Jan 4, 2017) - Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) launches a year of celebration as Canada and Peel County and its historic Courthouse and Jail turn 150 years old! We will be hosting dynamic exhibitions all year-long showcasing Canadian icons, including graphic novelist Seth, contemporary artist Charles Pachter and Canadian hero Terry Fox. Pay-what-you-can admission continues until Feb. 10 when our Art Gallery re-opens with exciting new exhibitions!

Celebrate the Official 150 Anniversary of PAMA's Historic Courthouse and Jail
The first official meeting of the County of Peel Council was held in Peel County Courthouse on Jan. 22, 1867, the same month the jail opened for the very first time. Tour the facilities 150 years later to learn new facts and unique stories.

  • Guided Courthouse and Jail Tours, Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.
  • Birthday Celebration with cupcakes, tours and art activity, Sunday, Jan. 22, 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Celebrate National Handwriting Day
Explore the exhibit Messages and Media: Two Centuries of Correspondence in Peel in the Archives and discover the art of text with our Family Fun Activity.

Monday, Jan. 23, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. 

3D Printing with PAMA and Makerspace at Four Corners Library
See a 3D printer in action and learn how to design a 3D model using Tinkercad! You can then print out your design at the nearby Four Corners Branch of the Brampton Library between 1 - 5 p.m. Registration is limited and required for the PAMA session. Recommended for children 7+; children must be accompanied by a guardian.

  • Service and Remembrance: 150 Years of the Lorne Scots Regiment (until January 15)
  • Capturing Caledon, on now until Feb. 2 in the Museum 2nd floor.
  • Come on Canada! Selections from the Meluish Collection of WWII Posters
  • Kids on the Move, play onboard the NEW PAMA Express and explore lots of hands-on family fun for little hands!

Join an evening of shared traditions and songs

PAMA is a place to explore and learn about Peel Region's culture and heritage, as well as use conversation, questions and stories to help make new and fascinating connections to the surrounding community. Throughout the year, PAMA offers a variety of workshops and programs for all ages, families and adults. With so many different programs to choose from, PAMA has something for everyone.
