Region of Peel Releases Community for Life Annual Report and Dashboard

Update to residents combining annual financial reporting with new metrics to track progress towards achieving 20-year strategic plan outcomes

BRAMPTON, ON. (July 6, 2017) – Today, the Region of Peel launched its first Community for Life Annual Report and Dashboard. The report provides a full and transparent look at the Region's progress towards its vision of Community for Life and highlights key areas of improvement.

"Building a thriving community in these changing times requires a long-term outlook and a guiding plan. In 2015, we asked residents to help us envision the future of Peel," said David Szwarc, Chief Administrative Officer. "This is our update to our residents on how we've progressed since then and where we need to improve to continue achieving our collective vision of Community for Life."

The report, divided into three areas of focus: Living, Thriving and Leading, tracks the progress made in each of these areas and compliments an online dashboard that monitors key community trends.

"Through the Community Annual Report, we are committed to demonstrating the value that we deliver for your taxpayers' dollars," said Stephen VanOfwegen, Commissioner of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. "We are focused on measuring the outcomes – the return on impact – that we deliver through the services, programs and infrastructure projects we provide across Peel Region."

To commemorate the launch, residents are invited to Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) over the summer to view the Community for Life visual installation and take a photo at the "My Community for Life" wall.

We hope you find the report informative and encourage you to follow our future progress through the online dashboard that can be found at peelregion.ca/strategicplan and by viewing our 2016 annual report (PDF).
