The Region of Peel raises the Pride flag for the first time Monday, July 9
Brampton, ON (July 4, 2018) – On Monday, July 9 the Rainbow flag will rise for the first time at the Region of Peel's headquarters in Brampton.
This year, the Region of Peel will join its municipalities and community partners by raising the Pride flag at its headquarters located at 10 Peel Centre Drive. All over the world, communities celebrate Pride throughout the year. We are raising this flag to coincide with Peel's Pride Week, which has been celebrated in July for 15 years.
Speakers for the Region's first flag-raising will include the Region of Peel's Chief Administrative Officer David Szwarc, Chief of Paramedic Services Peter Dundas and Councillor Barb Shaughnessy – on behalf of Chair Frank Dale. Also, in attendance will be Peel Regional Police Chief Jennifer Evans and members of the Peel Pride Network. A celebratory cake-cutting ceremony will follow.
Region of Peel's First Flag-raising Event

Where: 10 Peel Centre Drive – Suite B outdoor patio
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Pride flags will also be flown at the following locations:
- 7120 Hurontario Street
- Fernforest Paramedic Station
- Rising Hill Paramedic Station
- 6825 Tomken Road Paramedic Station
