Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for a
300 mm Diameter Watermain
Across the Humber River at Highway 50
The Regional Municipality of Peel is initiating a Class Environmental Assessment (EA) to construct a 300 mm diameter watermain across the Humber River along Highway 50 in Palgrave. This work is being done as part of the Palgrave Water Supply system. A comprehensive and environmentally sound planning process that incorporates public consultation and involves a wide variety of stakeholders is required. The Study Area is shown on the plan provided below.
This Study is being conducted in accordance with Schedule ‘B’ of the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (2000). The Class EA process includes public and review agency consultation, a screening of alternatives, an assessment of the impacts of the preferred solution and identification of measures to mitigate any adverse impacts.
Upon completion of this study, an Environmental Screening Report (ESR) documenting the process will be submitted to the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) and will be available for public review for a period of 30 calendar days.
Public consultation is vital to this Study. We want to ensure that anyone with an interest in this Study has the opportunity to get involved and provide input before any decisions are made on the preferred solution.
We are interested in hearing any comments that you may have about the Study. With the exception of personal information, all comments will become part of the public record.
