Notice of Public Meeting

By-laws to increase fees or charges for the use of the water, wastewater (sewage) and waste management systems of the Region of Peel and to approve any additions, deletions or changes to these fees or charges.

On Thursday February 15, 2007, the Regional Municipality of Peel will hold a public meeting to consult with the public and hear representations regarding its intention to pass by-laws to increase fees and charges for the use of its water, wastewater (sewage) and waste management systems. The public meeting is being held pursuant to the Region of Peel Notice By-Law 63-2003 and the Fees and Charges Regulation 244-02 under the Municipal Act, 2001.

All interested parties wishing to make a representation are invited to attend the public meeting. The meeting is to be held as follows:

If the matter is considered at a subsequent Regional Council meeting, no additional notice will be given unless Council directs otherwise.

Requests for information (which includes a description of the fees, the estimated costs for providing the services, the changes in fees and the rationale for imposing the fees and charges) may be directed to Shaun Hewitt, Director of Business and Information Services, Public Works department, at 10 Peel Centre Dr., 4th Fl., or at 905-791-7800, ext. 4761. This information will be made available at no cost to any member of the public.

Copies of the report and proposed by-laws to Regional Council will be available upon request, at no cost to any member of the public, as of February 7, 2007 during regular business hours from the Office of the Regional Clerk at 905-791-7800, ext. 4502.

Written submissions must be received prior to the February 15, 2007 public meeting. Representation in respect to the proposed fees and charges may be made at the public meeting by contacting the Office of the Regional Clerk at 905-791-7800, ext. 4697.
