Notice of Study Completion
Phases 1 & 2

Lakeview and Port Credit Sanitary Sewer Improvements
Class Environmental Assessment

The Study
The Region of Peel has confirmed the need to construct a new pump station, associated gravity sewers and forcemain in the Lakeview area of Port Credit. This will address capacity issues in the existing system due to wet weather flows and infill development and ongoing maintenance issues with the existing siphon under Cooksville Creek.

Preferred Solution
The Region has planned this project under Schedule ‘C’ of the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (2000). The first part of this study is completed, dealing with Phase 1 and 2 of the Class Environmental Assessment, the selection of a preferred solution. The preferred solution recommends the construction of a new pump station on Lakeshore Road East, west of Cooksville Creek. Figure 1 is a conceptual plan only and does not indicate an exact location for the proposed pump station.

This Notice is being placed on the public record for review. The Region will be proceeding with the remainder of the Environmental Assessment to determine and exact location and design concepts to allow the project to proceed to construction.
