Notice of Study Completion
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Schedule B)
Kennedy Road Widening
URS Canada Inc. has been retained by the City of Mississauga to undertake the study of Kennedy Road widening from Derry Road northerly approximately 600m to the City of Mississauga border. This project is subject to a Schedule B process, in accordance with the Planning and Design Process for Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, June 2000. The City of Mississauga proposes to improve Kennedy Road to match the works being undertaken by the Region of Peel at Derry Road, as well as the proposed widening of Kennedy Road in the City of Brampton to the Mississauga/Brampton municipal boundary.
The study was conducted in accordance with the Municipal Engineers Association guidelines for a Schedule ‘B’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, June 2000. As a part of the environmental assessment process, opportunities were made available to the affected and interested parties to provide input to the Class EA study. A Notice of Study Commencement inviting initial input was published in March 2007, and a Public Information Centre was held on June 27, 2007.
A Project File has been prepared to document the planning and decision making processes followed. By this notice, an Environmental Study Report is being placed on the public record for a 30 calendar day review period (starting July 30, 2007 and ending August 30, 2007) in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Class EA. The ESR will be available for public review starting July 30, 2007 at the following locations:
