Notice of Study Commencement
Glen Erin Booster Pumping Station Class Environment Assessment
The Region of Peel is undertaking a Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study to select a preferred site for the Glen Erin Booster Pumping Station and Feedermain route alignment in the City of Mississauga. The project is being proposed as a result of observed low and high water pressures within the study area in the Region of Peel. The observations are consistent with previous modifications to the Region’s pressure zone boundaries. In an effort to resolve these concerns improvements are proposed to regulate pressures in the Region’s Pressure Zone’s 4 and 5.
The study is being conducted in accordance with the requirements of a Schedule “C” projects of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment document (June 2000). The Class EA process includes public and review agency consultation, an evaluation of alternatives, an assessment of the impacts of the proposed works and identification of measures to mitigate any adverse impacts.
Public and review agency consultation is a key element of the Class EA process, and input will be sought from the parties throughout this study. A Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held to present background information of the study, the various alternatives being considered and the next steps in the study to the public for their reviews and comment. You will be notified of the PIC at the appropriate time, via a similar newspaper advertisement.
We are interested in hearing any comments or concerns that you may have about this study. The Region wants to ensure that anyone interested in this study has the opportunity to get involved and provide input before any decisions are made on a preferred solution. There are several ways to provide input and/or be kept informed:
